The Nat Turner Rebel Development Organization, Inc., DBA as NITRO, Inc., was founded by Pastor Ibrahim Ayu and Freedom Advocate Nathylin Flowers in 2022, and dedicated to uplifting incarcerated families by providing essential resources and support. We are a community-based IRS Certified 501(C)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring safety, stability, and economic opportunity for justice-impacted individuals and their families.

As a NYS Certified Charitable Organization located in the heart of New York City, we focus our programmatic attention specifically in Southside Jamaica, Queens and the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Brownsville, and East New York. We strive to address the pressing needs of all 5 boroughs and Rikers Island.

We operate at the intersection of self-defense, physical fitness, mental health support, and economic education to address the long-term harm caused by incarceration and systemic exclusion. Our organization focuses on the unique challenges faced by incarcerated individuals and their families.

Our programs are designed to empower individuals by equipping them with vital skills and knowledge to survive in the workplace and the marketplace.
